Emphysema

I was diagnosed as stage 1 emphysema with asthma Christmas eve 2011...only symptom is breathlessness and a permanent cough.i saw the respiratory team to get my diagnoses and have not been seen by then since even though I still get re-occuring chest infections. Does any one else suffer with this cough.

Are you still smoking, or being exposed to any toxic smoke or fumes.

Emphysema is not often associated with infections unless caused by triggers.

If it's ongoing I would speak to GP, or ask at local pharmacy.

Iam stage four mainly infection free, got slightly bronchi in past twelve months , only to be expected as the condition progresses. Not much of a cough.

I gave up smoking in 2005 after pneumonia. GP's are hopeless now just say irritated cough reflex even though at rest I don't cough. It's only when I'm mobile I have the problem.

Have a chat with your pharmacy, they will look at your medication and our you are using it. with a possible over counter solution.
