There 'Ain't No Stopping Me Now...

The excitement is too much...just shows what an incredibly boring life we lead, when the arrival of a wheelchair...in metallic blue...gets me all of a quiver.

It was never an item on my list of objects I'd love to own...doesn't really compare with an electric train set for instance or the Mediaeval table we once saw in an antique shop that I'd have sold my soul to call mine...the stout legs attached to the top with wooden pegs...the surface like the finest silk to touch...not that it'd have ever fitted inside our cottage, but that's quite beside the point...

A train set would be grand...little bridges and cuttings and tiny stations with miniature people...it would never be finished would it...you could keep adding more...a set of signals perhaps or another porter. Or another train...

And I'd really like an original Grimoire...a Mediaeval book of ancient spells and incantations...wouldn't be wanting a copy though...it'd have to be an original. I'd keep it in a proper wooden box and handle it while wearing white cotton gloves and wonder about those who'd owned and used it all those years ago...

A little veranda on my shed would be grand...to put the rocking chair on and some herbs in terracotta pots...I'd string fairy lights round and watch the moths with furry wings feeding from the honeysuckle...

A wheelchair has never been on my list...but now I'll be able to get out so much more...

Himself had better be rolling up his sleeves and getting fit :) Are the road surfaces around where you live okay for a wheelchair ?

in reply to Billiejean_2

The roads are horrible for cars...I'll have to practice pot-hole avoidance!

I think Halloween is getting to you perhap, with spell books, herbs and rocking chairs ;).I've always fancied a bit of witchcraft myself mind however I have no powers. Tried many a time to levitate things by the power of my mind..nothing, not even a little tremble. Would come in handy nowadays if I could ;)

Happy new wheelchair :)

My late friend Mary was a white witch, she kept her own Grimoire. She celebrated the festivals and seasons. She moved to County Cork a few years ago. When she got married back in England, she had a wedding presided over by a High Priestess. It was quite complicated and meaningful. The happy couple jumped the broomstick too.

Pagan Hand-fastings are lovely...

It was, Mary wore a green Medieval dress and pointed hat with a veil hanging from it. She had a thick cord with tasselled ends round her waist. The dress material was heavy damask shot through with gold. Brian wore a Grandad shirt, black waistcoat and kind of top hat with wheat in the ribbon. His trouser had braces. I suppose it could have been liked to a Leprechaun outfit apart from being black and white. I can't remember the embellishments.

There was a big table with elements of Earth, Wind anf Fire. A circle of straw and hay was set out around it. The High Priestess spoke the words, then swept an opening for Mary and Brian, then they jumped the broomstick. It was a very touching experience.

They had 15 years of happiness together.

Ah how our lives change hey? Have you got a name for your wheelchair yet?

I had a friend who was a white witch and I and another friend were in a nightclub with her. This guy kept hassling her even while he was eating a meal. She said she knew how to get rid of him and nicked his napkin and we all went to the toilets. She burned it over the toilet saying a few words and lo and behold he left immediately afterwards.

Then we saw fireman in the toilets as someone had obviously smelt burning...... x

I WANT ONE!!!

in reply to Toci

I bought mine from Go mobility which is based here in Ireland...there was no delivery charge...I think they deliver 'overseas'...Google the name and it'll come up. Though you'd probably have to pay for delivery...wouldn't do any harm to have a look.

I think I remember you saying it was a self propelled one too. Take it slowly so that it does not affect your neck and shoulders.

But enjoy the hills ;)

Be Well

in reply to Offcut

Shan't be doing much in the way of self-propelling...that type had better wheels for Himself to do the pushing...lol

Think of all the trips you can take the kitties on as well, you could make panniers to sit either side of the chair and then they sit in them perfectly safety and enjoy trips out with you and himself. Have now got a wheelchair by default, my dad has moved into a nursing home recently and they have plenty there, so we have his fold up model sitting in our garage. Our daughter has decided that my first trip will be to the Lakeside shopping centre which is not far away from where we live, but it's the walking that is impossible for me now. So soon we will be off on a mummy and daughter day out to buy her birthday clothes, chat, nibble food and drink expensive coffee which is something I have missed these last three years or so.

I hope you have many enjoyable trips, with or without the kitties.

Sue
