So far it's been good ...but very hard work digging holes to plant new shrubs and trees...

Got a beautiful bread fruit tree that been in a pot for months. .so that's going in today.

Am also doing a bit more in the.......yes the CHICKEN run.

I find best thing for diging holes for trees /shrubs is the spades that you dig post holes with don't know if you know what I mean but they are two spades joined together , have fun doing your chicken run , I will have to go let mine out of the coop as its now getting light here

I bought one for doing posts for my garden fence but comes in very handy for making holes for large plants, when I worked on the farm I use to use the tractor bucket when the boss wasn't about to push the fencing stakes in instead of hitting them in for the sheep and cattle

We are digging holes to help drain the water that flows down our drive from the road. We put a new drain in when we moved here but that is blocked despite our efforts to keep it clear. So now we are hoping to put an other drain further up the road to take the water away before it all gets to the other drain. In the days of my youth when every one swept their own house frontage (remember polishing the doorstep and everything?) so much rubbish and grit wouldn't have come down but now when no one even keeps the weeds down and the council only come and sweep the roads about twice a year there is a lot of rubbish to flow down. So lots of potholes in our garden and a it is costing a small fortune. What with that and a broken chimney this is an expensive year.

im to young to remember polishing door steps but been told about it , I know what you mean about neighbours and rubbish one side of us is only late 20s front garden is like a hay field I get so annoyed as nettles and brambles keep coming under the fence from his side , his hedge is sticking out over the footpath looks a right mess , does sound like expensive year hopefully you will have better luck next year

Complain to the council highways dept if his hedge is obstructing the footpath. If they are like our council They will give him 2 warnings to cut it back or they send a contractor and send him the bill.

We had one like it in our village. That got put in the local paper. It smartened up the whole village.

I complained to housing association they came round made him cut hedge and cut grass but he don't keep doing it only when association make him after a complaint

Such a shame when neighbours have such a negative effect on the neighbourhood. Especially when they are right next door. They can turn life into a misery. I had a friend who dreaded going home from hospital because of the stress that his next door neighbour caused him.

It is cooler here and I have noticed it is darker later in the mornings and earlier in the evenings. Heating on and stews, pies and curries are on the menu.

The sun was coming up at 7 am and is now dazzlingly bright. Many years ago my uncle had two deep hols dug for a swing. My cousins and I were delighted to find lots of tiny toads scrambling around in the holes. We had great fun playing with them. I was 7 or 8 at the time. The grown ups weren't too pleased with our find.

Morning Andy, beautiful day again here. Trees all have their golden leaves of Autumn & not too many have fallen as we haven't had much wind.

We've got a number of bird's nests in our hedges. It's fun to watch the little birds flit in & out. Also our friendly little Robin is still living somewhere in the garden, he's here every day!

Lots of squirrels & rabbits running across the lawn playing with each other. Lovely to sit & watch them.

Hi Jessy..when I lived in London my home was 5 minutes walk from hampstead heath...The walks were wonderful..I think we all love the changes of the seasons...sounds wonderful were you live..

Hi Sassy. Yes it is beautiful here..I always feel free...suppose it's because I am. Though I have live in a number of countries. .England is were I was brought up. ..and made my living. (fortune)hard time growing up and making a living. .very few foreign people in 1954...

I still love the place...its very beautiful and I do miss it...
