Have you been diagnosed with lung or bowel cancer in the last six months? Would you be willing to describe your experiences to a researcher?
The Health Experiences Research Group at the University of Oxford is recruiting people that have been diagnosed with lung or bowel cancer, for a research study into experiences of being diagnosed.
Taking part in the project would involve being interviewed by the research team about your experiences in the time leading up to your diagnosis and the present day. Interviews will take place at a time and place convenient to you, such as your home or the university and travel expenses can be reimbursed.
Thank you for your comment. The group would be very happy to speak to you. They will anonymise the interviews and visit you at a time and place that is convenient for you. If you or your family have any other worries about taking part you can contact one of the researchers, his name is John and you can reach him on 01865 617 825. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with, if you prefer I can put you both in touch via email.
If you need any support with your diagnosis and anything you're going through at the moment, please call our Helpline on 03000 030 555, we have a team of specialist nurses and adviser at the end of the phone ready to give you the advice and support you need, even if that's just a chat.
