Air energy mahine

It's been around a long time. Is it any good for copd. Any recent experience of this machine. I can't really decide whether it's effective or not. Do the NHS use it?

Hi Sprucehills, It sounds very interesting, however I haven't heard anything about it. Apparently the germans used it for the Olympics. I will have a browse around and see if I can find out more. xx

I have been trying to find out whether it really is any good . I have spent a fair amount of time looking on Web but opinions seemed to be mixed. I can't make up my mind if it is a rip off as it costs about £4300. I have found no post mention using it in the last year just the company selling it saying it is good as they would. I want up to date information

We recently bought one of these machines for my husband to try and give him energy as he's got emphysema. At first he appeared to get worse ie more tired than normal, energy levels dipped even more and constant headaches, we put it down to the detoxing effect that it can cause in some people. He hasn't been checking his blood oxygen lately but there was some improvement as before airnergy it was approx 87% when resting and last time he checked it was 93% so that was good. He always used to be ready for bed by 9.30 pm now it's usually between 10.30 & 11pm. It is very early days yet and can't say for sure that it's working, I will let you know in due course how he gets on in next few weeks, hope this helps

If your husbands sats are below 88% at rest they will considerable lower during excretion which if left unchecked can cause major organ damaged. I would seek a proper assessment if oxygen is required not only is it free you are monitored on a regular basis.

Once you you have had the assessment and test it still your choice whether to accept the treatment offered.

Hi Stone thanks for the advice we know that low blood oxygen levels is bad for major organs but according to respiratory nurse they're ok and many people can function and survive on low oxygen levels and there's no need to worry?? Which is one of reason's why we bought this machine hoping it will give some help with energy levels. From what I can gather oxygen won't be given until he's really bad and housebound and needs it 24/7 and fortunately he's not at that stage yet, we are willing

to try anything that will give my

hubby some

normality back in his life

Thanks everyone who has replied but i am still trying to appraise the value of this air machine. Most people are in my position of trying to judge it's value without direct experience. I would really appreciate it if someone who has used the machine for 6 months or more would contact me. .....What ever the reason was for using the machine.
