Recent chest infection

Having had a chest infection and cough for the last 6 weeks, plus 3 different antibiotics,( still taking the last one 3 days left), I have asthma and sarcoidosis in both lungs. My question is that for the last 3 days I have had left breast pain going under armpit, getting worse when I cough. Any thoughts would be great, before I visit GP again.

Thanks

Jan

Hi Jan

Isn't that something to do with your Pleuric cavity??? I had this once after a really bad chest infection but my advice would be to ring your GP. I don't know if I am lucky but my GP is happy to have a call from me. As he knows my case (I always see him) it can save the time of having an appointment.

Take care Jan and let us know how you get on.

Thanks Sokrackers, he did say last week (after I asked about it) that should the cough continue after I complete the antibiotics, he would consider a chest X-ray. I have to phone before 10am to request a telephone consultation with him, so will do that tomorrow.

Thanks again for replying

Hi Titchy, for what it's worth, I get the same pain on the right hand side when I still have a chest infection. Perhaps you're not getting the right antibiotics, you could suggest that the doctor sends off a sample and I would certainly push for an X-ray. Really hope you feel better soon. B

Thank you B, will get back to GP and ask for X-ray. Not coughing anything up to be tested now.
