Much shortened version. Today the sun was shinning so I got out for a walk armed with my oxygen and camera, Its amazing what you can do on 25% lung function. I must have done 3 to 4 miles up and down hills, across the busy local golf club, passed the lake house and back up the common. It was a great day to be out and enjoying the wonderful views on display.

When the sun shines, my advice is get out and soak it up if you are able, it gives you a real boost!!

Tony. :) I think my lungs quite like it too as they always work much better after a good walk.

Never say 'can't' Bev, Just turn up the oxygen and take it slow. Its amazing what can be done if you take it steady, even steep hills can be beaten at the right pace and some hard work.

I'm not on oxygen dall and hope I never am!

I've heard of people being badly injured by some who have driven their scooters recklessly and they don't have to have any insurance either. Best just remove their battery if their that bad, that'll stop them. :)

in reply to dall05

Yep a lot are inconsiderate .. Its a bit much when you wish thay would vanish down a pot hole ...

Its according to how deep that pot hole is Daz, Ha Ha. I have seen some of the new scooters travelling at high speeds through crowded areas and you know its only a matter of time before someone gets badly injured.

Oh Daz, I think it is a bye law - P763-678-9011b - if they run into you for a fourth time tipping or cursing loudly is not only allowed but encouraged. :P x

A was of the same opinion and looking for consensus :)

Hi wendells, that is a favourite spot of mine while doing the Long Golf Club Walk. I have shorter walks but I felt good so I went for it. I always try to take the camera with me now so I can show you all some of the scenery around these parts. I remember the one you posted with the birds in your garden, they looked amazing, better than our sparrows, so much colour.

I alway's try to put a positive spin on my posts to give everyone a lift, but I realise that's not alway's possible to do.

Lovely picTony. Thank you. I have lovely memories of walking around that very lake with my dogs many times years ago while my youngest was horse riding. The things I could do then! I'm looking forward to doing them again! :-) Alison

I'm sure you'll do that walk again someday Alison. I am very lucky to have such amazing scenery on the door step, it distracts away from the uncomfortable feeling of being out of breath and make's getting outside a pleasure.

As a scooter driver, my worst nightmare would be to run someone over. Some of these drivers need to learn manners and consideration, and make way for the pedestrian.

That walk looks wonderful, dall05.

Hi Annie, these scooters seem to be getting bigger and faster. In the wrong hands they could do some serious damage to someone, hopefully if I ever need one then I'll not think I'm Jenson Button behind the handlebars. :)

Watch out for Daz on your travels his toe's are a bit sore at the moment. Ha Ha.

Tony.

in reply to dall05

With respect to the male sex, men will go for the big tank like scooters, which to me are intimidating. See them, and I will pull up out of the way. As for Daz, I hope to see him on my travels, and say hullo!

The best and largest scooter I've seen is driven by an old lady who live's nearby. Its capable of going across the local common. Must be a ScootRover with 4 wheel drive, she use's it to walk the dog.

As for Daz, well he must be easy to find now, he's walking with a limp and gets very nervous around scooters. Ha Ha.

in reply to dall05

Would agree .. Was happy today as a local car boot band those 4+4 scoters :)

Hi Tony...thankyou so much for the beautiful photo and well done for setting out on your walks and capturing such a lovely scene. Lovelight x

Great photo dall, I could not walk half a mile and not on oxygen the doctor says that I don't need it, doesn't make sense to me, any thoughts would be most welcome Richard.

It seems as though each lung condition is very different. I think if your blood oxygen levels drop enough on the six minute walk test then your put on oxygen. My oxygen levels drop to 74 without oxygen but on the same test with oxygen they will stay at 86.

Have they ever tested your oxygen levels on a six minute walk, if not I would ask why.

Tony

I love your posts Dall! Apparently it's going to be a sunny week so keep taking the photos and enjoying the walking. Would post more but I'm off out now for a walk on the beach. You've spurred me on! :-)

Beautiful picture, can just imagine a swim in the cool water. Hope you enjoyed your walk.

Its tempting to go for a swim but I think I'll leave it to the large fish that you can see in there. We've had a few teenagers drown in a nearby disused quarry this year and my swimming was never that good even when my lungs were in better shape.

Know what you mean, I was only dreaming my swimming is not so good these days with reduced lung function and wonky joints. I can still swim but need someone with me.
