Itching legs after triple bypass

I'm four weeks post a triple coronary artery bypass graft. I am experiencing chronic itching on legs. I note that Apixiban's side effects can include itching. NHS site suggests an appropriate anti-histamine can be taken. Has anyone experienced similar itching? It's so bad I can't sleep.

My Meds are:

Apixiban 5mg/twice daily

Amiodorone (tapering off now 200mg/day for another three weeks)

Aspirin 75mg/day

Bisoprolol 3.75mg/daily

Lansoprazole 30mg/daily

Hi. Yes I have but that is the Warfarin or so I have been told. It tends to flare-up every now and then but I've been told by the Doctor that I can't have anything as it interferes with the Warfarin. So I just put up with it! It may be very different with Apixiban so have a word with your Doctor or, better still, a Pharmacist in my humble opinion. 😀

I've had a itchy rash problem that is driving me mental. I can sympathize entirely. So I'm now taking Fexofenadine which are the safest histamines to take with heart medication. So there are brands that you can buy over the counter. I did check with my pharmacist, who said I would be fine. And I am. I also use Aveeno dexiderm, lotion which is also helping lots. You can buy this over the counter or any supermarket. My doctor said my itchy rash is either due to my medication or something I've eaten. So I'm on the journey of what tablet to stop next. I hope this helps it has for me. 🤗

My husband takes Apixiban. He itches quite a lot, also little red spots.

I was taking ramipril, atorvastatin and aspirin for a couple of years, then got a rapidly spreading rash on my abdomen, stopped ramipril started losartan, no problem for a year, then itching / rash / hives on arms and legs, now taking no meds apart from aspirin, which doesn’t cause me a problem, but now the itching / rash and hives start after eating certain foods, mainly sugary foods and even honey and it’s now on my hands feet and ears as well, from what I’ve found on line you can get liver damage which causes this sort of allergic skin response and sometimes permanent from atorvastatin, I hope that’s not what’s happening to me, my GP has no idea what it is, still treating it as an allergy, prescribed hydrocortisone which did nothing, prescribed high strength antihistamine which has no effect apart from making me tired, no answer yet, but at least it’s not itchy all the time now, so hopefully over time it’ll settle down.

Yes. I've been told that several of the heat medicines cause this. I'm in Apixaban, Bisop, candesarten, Atorvastatin and Jardinace. I use aqueous cream and antihistamines when it gets too bad

Was given 4 x bisoprolol when at A&E last November and returned to normal sinus rhythm from a short episode of flutter within 15 minutes. Was not prescribed anything thereafter. No reaction to taking them. Don't think this will help as it's the only time I was given the drug.

I had annoying itching from apixaban and changed to edoxaban which almost eliminated it. I used and occasionally use Bethnasol cream still which relieves the itch fairly quickly.
