I have recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and currently I have it under control but my heart rate has increased. At the moment my resting rate is usually between 100 and 110. Is this normal? Many thanks in advance.

your pulse rate does seem a bit high. Have a look at the website of Blood Pressure UK, which is informative and might give you some insights.

I will happyrosie, thank you.

With a resting heart rate which has increased to over 100bpm without obvious reason I would be consulting my GP. Perhaps you should consider doing the same.

Hi there, your resting heart rate is on the high side, you need to goto the doctors ASAP and tell them what's been going on with your heart, I get heart palpitations my self and when it happens it's horrible 💔

If you have blood pressure under control using medication, maybe that (or one of them if more than one) is raising your HR. I had to change one of mine last year for same reason, after switching I was back down in 70s.

Good morning, Pedge. Thanks for your reply.I have an appointment the G.P. tomorrow, I've been advised to increase my water intake as dehydration could be related.

Can I ask which hypertensive rose your HR? I’m on 4 to lower BP at rest but get postural hypotension standing, and regularly over 100 HR. But the Falls specialist who diagnosed PH removed the beta blocker, bisoprolol, as it was inappropriately lowering HR contributing to my fainting. My problems relate to Covid 19 since Spring 2020, cardio’s not interested as echocardiogram/ ecgs Ok.

Sorry to hear all you are going through, all my problems seem to have been post covid too, but no one willing to investigate. The one raising my hr was Lercanidipine , at 10 mg it was helpful and no issues but moving to 20mg it raised my hr for fire hrs at rest to over 100. I ended up back on amlodipine and increasing my ramipril instead. Hope you find a solution that works for you soon.

hi

Normal heart rate should be between 70-100 resting can go down to 60 without concern.

Always best to get checked out.

If it’s considered too high they may prescribe a beta blocker which should lower the heart rate and it will also lower your blood pressure.

Important thing is not to worry. I know it’s easier said than done. You’re not alone. My heart rate was anything from 23 - 184 and everything in between over last 14 months. Currently between 42-153. Runs at 140 -153 most of the day. I am being treated for it and aware of what’s happening.

Good luck and take care

my hr is 40-110. It varies on how you feel, time of day and what you are doing.

I'm doing nothing at the moment, I have the underlying issue of Rheumatoid arthritis. I'm going through a bout currently, which means I'm stuck at home.My previous medication for my R.A. is the culprit for my high blood pressure

even pain can raise it.

normal is 60-100 at rest, but that varies person to person.

That is a rapid resting heart rate and your GP may want to check you for an overactive thyroid gland and put you on a beta blocker which will lower your heart rate and also lower your BP

Hadnt occurred to me that it could be my thyroid pills
