My bloods have been a bit off lately, not that its unusual but its coming close to some sort of intervention.
INR was 5.8 last Friday, but, that had come down to 2.4 on Monday despite only missing a single dose. It shouldn't really have made that much of a change.
I was at A&E on Monday, due to a nose bleed that wouldn't clot, possibly due to wardarin, Unfortunately bloods taken showed potassium levels on the up, and Haemoglobin on the way down but still too high for a transfusion.
At a Cardiology appt on Tuesday, Cardiologist was concerned on the potassium level and kidney function, so more bloods taken. Cardio rang on Wednesday for me to go for bloods to be taken as potassium was now up to 6.2 mmol/L in the dangerously high spectrum. Kidneys are now well into CKD Stage 4 with an eGFR of 22 today.
So I now have Hyperkalemia, and it appears first phase of treatment is to stop Entresto if only on a temporary basis. Hopefully this will have a two fold effect, reduce potassium and arrest any further kidney damage.
I'm back at SDEC on Thursday for more bloods, but, I dont anticipate much change if any, and I suspect back again on Friday.
Where this leaves treatment of my Heart Failure remains to be seen.
