hello BaronFrankenstein

I was in hospital last week and following a Knee replacement, my waste systems packed up. So was given at least two suppositories to unblock!

I am a heart patient and I am on Bisoprolol, Atorvastatin, Aspirin, amongst other heart medications.

The consultants were aware that I had a heart condition and There were no issues.

I hope this helps.

I used the Anusol ointment and as it didn’t fully work, my GP prescribed Uniroyd which did. She did this in the full knowledge of all my heart meds. I had no issues.

nothing to be embarrassed about. After my bypass I never went to the toilet so my nurse suggested a suppository. He asked if I minded a student watching? Well, they have to learn. It was amusing listening to his instructions for her. They included trimming her long nails on her right hand and during the procedure to definitely make sure she was double gloved. Like the golfer wearing two pairs of trousers in case he gets a hole in one.

I spent nearly a month in hospital after my heart attack, and I couldn’t go to the loo for 10 days, despite oral laxatives. Very painful. Suppositories are absolutely necessary sometimes!

Have a few prunes in your breakfast porridge in the morning. Drink a mug of hot water as well

I take blood thinners, statins and beta blockers for AF and my GP gave me uniroid suppositories. I had bought Ansusol and I think they are much the same but I think Uniroid are best.
