have just got back from a 10 min walk, one week almost since angiogram. Having had 2 stents fitted.

Is it normal to get a little tightness in chest? Doesn’t stay once I have stopped.

TIA

I would have thought it was normal to feel some discomfort after a week, although it will vary from individual to individual. Did your hospital give you guidance on exercise after your procedure? If not they should have done. Have you been given any information on cardio rehab organised by the hospital, when amongst other things, lifestyle measures including exercise are covered all to reduce your heart health risk. Check your discharge notes or ring the hospital to confirm. In the meantime you could talk to the BHF Heart Helpline nurse.

Many thanks Lowerfield.

Not yet been given any info for cardio rehab, said should be contacted after 2-3 weeks of op.

But was given advice by cardio nurses on line.

Started with 5 mins, now just increased to 10.

Hopefully it should ease the more I do.

Many thanks

I had two stents fitted on 7 August after severe heart attack. Have EF of 35. I experienced the tightness in the early days it very gradually became less and less. I still experience it when I get stressed or do too much.

I walk approx 1 hour now 6 days a week. But I do feel a little breathless on occasions. As we are all different you just have to listen to your body.

I am still waiting to be assessed by cardiac rehab. Got a date in November.

All the very best with your recovery and as everyone on here that I spoke to has said,, give it time, ……….

Thank you heartsandflowers.

Much appreciated, just to understand it will get easier.

I will follow my schedule I was given and percevier.

Onwards and upwards.

Good luck in your recovery I am also still waiting for cardio rehab, so hopefully that will give us both a goal and point us in the right direction.

Take care
