Is ejection faction of 54% good?

Ejection faction
A left ventricle (LV) ejection fraction of 50% to 70% is categorized as normal. So 54% is normal.
I wish mine was that high, I’m 25-30% on a good day. Don’t worry you are OK.
54 is good. Mine was 59 the other day, up from an estimated 20 to 25% pre-op a couple of years ago.
it is in the normal range. My cardiologist told me 65 was ideal/ what the average person with no issues has.
It is just within the normal range but at 55% ejection fraction I have been diagnosed with preserved ejection fraction (HFpreEF) as blood tests show my BNP level is high (in low 900 when recommended is up to 400). I have just started on Dapagliflozin for heart failure.Female 72 years
A recent post on here had a link to a BMJ article about women’s heart issues and the differences between women’s and men’s. I’m no good at linking back to stuff so if anyone here can it was a good article and said that women’s EF is normally higher than men’s. I think at about 60/65%
Hi Peachy39, the healthiest of hearts will never show a reading of 100%, it will be 60 to 65 %. My EF is 25%. Your EF is fine.
Yes
Hi, my ejection factor is 45 and I am told if I feel ok and do normal activities, then this is fine for me. Everyone is different. After my first MI 24 yrs ago, my preserved ejection factor was 65. So hopefully at 70 yrs old I will keep going good for now. I am active. Take care 🙂
54 good I’m at 50
what doctors often forget to tell you is that 100% EF is not possible (for technical reasons) - the maximum is around 80%
as Ewloe suggested the rates are based on measurements from men's hearts:

a BMJ paper suggests that Heart Failure date on men and women should be updated to include a better gender mix as current data is Male biased and this affects diagnosis and treatment for women: heart.bmj.com/content/108/1...
EF of 55% is normal so yours is pretty good.
EF can be age dependant but for most adults my research says a range of 50% to 65% is considered normal. Indeed BHF note that anything over 50% is considered as normal (bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo... and scroll down). The NHS also quote the same (england.nhs.uk/long-read/ma....
Many sites from a Google search are US sites and quote much higher figures.
When I was diagnosed my EF was 30%, after AVR/CABG and discharge from hospital it was 63%. I was told to lead a normal life, I'm male and 72 ...
