Good morning daviesl5000. Your best speaking to your doctor because you have to be measured for compression socks. Which go upto the knee. You need them the correct size to do the job your wearing them for. Hope this helps. Brian
Interestingly, I am awaiting follow up having had a cabg in 2021 as I have become more breathless and I have found my legs are aching more and the existing varicose veins are painful and more prominent. I am going to start wearing my compression again. I agree with Bingo88 about ensuring correct measurement but if you are of an average size you can buy low compression from a pharmacy, like flight knee highs, which could give you some relief from your discomfort. As long as you get the correct size ( size range on the box) Sixes from small to x large. Hope that helps.
I asked a doctor for advice. He said, "to be honest, any appropriate 30/20mmhg compression sock from Amazon will do. Just make sure you get the right size".
Although they don't reduce the appearance for my varicose veins, my lower legs feel sooo much better. There's no stabbing or burning pains. I can stand up for long periods with no issues.
I would recommend them for anyone suffering with varicose veins.
