I've started having wholemeal pitta bread. Don't need any butter and loads of different fillings. It's working for me...

There are plenty of ideas for a heart healthy diet on the BHF website. Personally I eat bread, and can't see why not, it has nothing to do with cholesterol production as far as I am aware, but may affect your body weight which is another of the lifestyle measures necessary to reduce your heart health risk. However as far as sandwiches are concerned it's what you put in them that may influence your cholesterol, and that's where the BHF recommendations will help.
