I was a bit anxious last time, there was a bit of pain, especially when they were inflating the balloons! not too bad.....

Best of luck. Hope it all goes well. Have heard it is a relatively easy procedure.

Any reason why you getting one with a 'slight' blockage?Normally stents are for significant blockages, ie 70% or more.

actually worded that incorrectly one was severe one was critical, so they did the bad one first.

Makes sense, just think as an updated plumbing work that will make you feel better. Best of luck already and wishing a speedy recovery too.

AFter a HA and 2 stents,I went back for another angiogram. my LAD was 64% blocked and they wouldn't stent it. Been breathless ever since ( 6 years) and still can't get them to check whether it's got worse. 2 referrals last year; still heard nothing, two doctors chasing up the appointment. Still nothing. Good luck, you shoudl feel so much better afterwards. Oddly i was much more nervous the second time than after my HA.

Thanks for the reply, sorry to hear about that, can't believe they're not having you in for stents? I take it you're on statins etc to stop it getting worse?

Yes, just aspirin and statin now. I didn't need all the rest they gave after my heart attack and all stopped after 12 months. GP has checked lung function- better than a 20 yr old, done chest x a rays but still breathless. Two of our G Ps have written very strong letters to get my referrals dealt with. Never heard a word.

Hi

I had a stent after an NSTEMI in 2019 and another 4 last year. It isn't very pleasant while you are having it done but I am sure it will all go well. I always remind myself that it is a life saving and extending procedure so I don't care if it's a little uncomfortable.

Tell them that it was painful last time so they can ensure enough pain relief. I found it very painful first time but I told them about my experience and the second time I didn't feel a thing! 😀

yeah I know what you mean, I had 3 done on 21st Aug, and it was painful, especially when they inflated the balloons! I did ask for more pain relief and they gave it, but it took a while to take affect, hopefully this time it will be less painful.
