I was sent home from A&E being told my ECG and bloods were ok to a week later being told I'd had a heart attack and had a stent put in.
All this happened over two weeks. I am home but terrified. I feel sort of well, odd niggles in the chest area but nothing like the pain before. I am very emotional and tired.
Is this normal ? I need some reassurance and don't know who to turn to.
I have my appointment through for cardiac rehab and to be honest it can't come soon enough just for some answers.
Any advice would be so appreciated.
Thank you 😊

My story is similar to yours in that I went from diagnosis to bypass surgery inside 8 days. Its a hell of a lot to take in a very short space of time. Feeling emotional and tired/drained is VERY common, but it does pass and you will feel better quite quickly. Try to think of it as a positive, you could have have been a whole lot worse off than you are. Talk to people - don't bottle everything up, and use this community to help answer your questions - I have found it really helpful answering more general questions that I'd like answers too now rather than later.
Relax, take it easy and try not to wind yourself up about it.
Thanks for that. I struggle telling anyone what has happened as I feel it's all quite surreal still.
I was in A&E at 1pm on Monday and 24 hrs later it was confirmed it was a heart attack, (without even knowing I had heart trouble) angiogram and stent put in and home for 6pm !
I appreciate it could have been worse of course and hopefully this forum will help me get my head around it.
Hello there, for most of us it's a shock and your reactions are perfectly normal, tired and emotional. The rehab classes will help enormously, I would add if they offer some counseling then I'd advise you to take it. Good to be able to talk things through
Hello, I had symptoms for 7 weeks then like yourself at A&E went from MAU to CAU, from an angiogram on the Monday to an angiogram and stents 10pm that night. I was not formally told until 24hours later. Do not be hard on yourself, of course you are going to be emotional, do not under-estimate the impact and yes you will be tired until you and your body adjusts. Give you and your body what it needs. I found counselling helped in that I was just able to offload - Cardiac rehab is good as there are people all in the same boat. Do not bottle it up - open up
