Hi All

I have recently been prescribed propranolol from bisoprolol as that was increasing my palptions ectopic beats and bringing them on stronger

I have given a propranolol a run but for a week I have been having tight chest and taking deep breath here and there through out the day I also have little tightness in my throat when taking this

is this normal and if these are side effects do they do get better once my body gets used to the tablets

just wondering anyone experience this when on propranolol I have made another doctors appointment regarding the tablets the breathing problems has been going on for last 3 days now

If you believe you are experiencing worrying side effects from any medication and have given the medication a reasonable 'bedding in' period and nothing has changed, you should discuss with your GP, as you intend to do. However in the meantime before your appointment you could discuss with your local pharmacist or the BHF Heart Helpline nurse who may be able to advise if there is anything you can do in the interim to help your situation without compromising your healthcare.
