Hello, probably not the right section.

But can you just walk into a heart foundation shop

and buy something?

I'm looking for a sofa.

Thank you very much in advance.

Yes you can. They deliver if needed for a charge, our local bhf shop charges £25 but they'll deliver more than one item for the same amount.

Thank you for your reply. I think I'll take a walk in and see what sofas they have.

I was very impressed with the quality of furniture when I peeked into the BHF store in Reading - to the point of concluding there was little point in offering them my modest sofas, desk, cabinets etc when I downsize!

I brought my wardrobes and side boards in there, great shop and I got it delivered on the same day.

Yes you can. When my mum died last year, they got a load of her furniture and other stuff. Unfortunately they wouldn’t take the chairs as they had been reupholstered without fire labels (big thumbs down to Plumbs Furnishing).

if you don't have any luck there, try your local Emmaus, we got both our sofas there several years ago - another worthy cause too

Many very worthy charities often have specific stores for the sale of larger items like furniture. These include BHF, Emmaus, Guild Care and often local hospices, too.

We furnished a holiday apartment from one of their shops, having popped in while waiting for a bus. The stuff is still going strong ten years on. And you are benefitting an excellent charity.

BHF insist that all furniture has fire retardant labels but other places may not ( They should) so do check. BHF shops sell everything from cups and plates to big furniture. We also have a small shop close to the big one that sells just clothes. For mobility aids I've found our local tip now has a shop selling good quality wheelchairs , walkers etc.

😂 this is a funny post! First time I've seen someone wanting to buy a sofa.... but yes you can. It's a regular charity shop.
