First cardiology appointment

Hi. My first appointment for the cardiology clinic has come through. It's for the heart failure clinic. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect? Thanks in advance.

Hi, at my first cardiology appointment I had with the HF nurse, they weighed me, measured my height, took my blood pressure and temperature. I then saw the HF nurse who went through my medication and made sure everything was going OK for me. They can tweak your medication if they think it needs it. My HF nurse is so lovely and made going to the appointments so much easier and nicer for me. I hope that helps.

I wish I had a heart failure nurse. I asked my GP about getting to see one sbd his answer was 'we don't have one'. I thought they would be available as a right rather than choice?

That's not good not having one. Mine is through the hospital amd the cardiology department. They are very good there.

wish I had an HF nurse too! I was told that my GP was ‘out of area’ (6 miles from my home) so my local hospital couldn’t take me

Awful isnt it ? Seems to be a lottery as to whether you're lucky enough to have one
