I’ve not been on for some time as I’ve been very unwell, another MI in June and about 7 visits to A&E 4 of which I was admitted and I’m actually in hospital right now I’m on the medical ward as cardiology ward is full, so the consultant cardio came round yesterday and said he didn’t know what to do and recommended a psychologist and said to wait for Bradford.
so the medical consultant has been much more helpful and has started me on a trans patch so I’m wondering if anyone has used one of these before?

I suggest you ask to be reviewed by the Pain Management Team.
I was prescribed these patches many years ago by a well meaning Cardiologist. I stopped using them when I was made aware of the side effects by the Pain Management Consultant.
Butrans isn't a solution long term to refractory angina pain, it has some major side effects.
When, I am in hospital with unstable angina, I am prescribed IV morphine, which is administered, through a Patient controlled analgesia system. The amount of morphine I can have is very carefully controlled.
I go home on modified slow release morphine tablets for a couple of days, then wean off this morphine too.
I use a Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation TENS machine to manage my vasospastic angina at home.
When I have run out of coping strategies, I contact my Cardiologist and I am admitted to hospital for an IV GTN infusion and morphine to treat my unstable angina.
Perhaps ask your Cardiologist if IV GTN may help you.
The Pain Management Team I attended was run by Clinical Psychologists who are skilled at helping people learning skills to live with pain in their lives.
Thank you Milkfairy for your informative reply, there isn’t a pain management team at the hospital would you believe! Apparently the funding was pulled.
They are anxious for me to go home and I feel like the unpopular student but I don’t want to go home until the pain is stopped and I’ve been told by Cardiology that they don’t know what to do and I’ve got to wait for Bradford
