Some of you may remember me from a few weeks ago as my partner had been struggling with procedures that were done to bridge him to transplant… well I can share the news that at 10.30pm last night he was transplanted with a pristine heart and is back in the ICU recovering 💪❤️❤️

Good news indeed I wish him a speedy and straightforward recovery but it does take time for the chest muscles to recover.

Oh my goodness! Wishing him the speediest and hopefully - the most uneventful of recoveries. He’s so brave - and so are you. Such a tough time, both physically and mentally, for both of you. The next few days will be tough - especially if family aren’t allowed to visit, but the I.C.U staff are amazing. He will have a Nurse (sometimes 2) with him constantly. I was able to speak briefly to my Husband on the ward landline a couple of times when he managed to get through, (no mobiles were allowed), which helped until I was moved back to the H.D.U.

Fingers crossed he’ll make good progress and soon be back with you. What an amazing family the donor had - to give the ultimate gift. Such a selfless thing to do at the most difficult of times. So very brave too.
