seeking advice to calm my anxiety. I have had severe anxiety for 9 years now, I am 30 years old. No previous health issues, no family history of any heart disease etc. I have had countless ekgs, holter monitor and a echo done. Nothing was ever found. Recently because my anxiety is so bad and most likely causing my heart palptations my primary sent me for an echo to put my anxiety to rest. All was normal besides the test saying my ejection fraction of my left ventrical was 41%??? (Wall thickness etc all was normal) under those results it says "there was technical difficulties during this study) OK this made my anxiety 10000% times worse as i dont follow up till next wednesday. (Dr sent me to a cardiologist) can this result be wrong? My pulse at rest is normal in the 70s-80s. Seems i get the most of my heart palptations at my second job when feeling anxious. (which is a server very fast paced and busy) Otherwise the heart palptations dont seem to happen much . I am having severe anxiety now and my doctor has assured me several times "this is not acutely concerning or urgent" i have had cardiac bloodwork as well. No issues no heart attacks etc. please does anyone have any advice??? Am i in afib? I am so distraught.

Frequent ectopics (palpitations) can cause Cardiomyiopathy but it is reversible with treatment (ablation). Try not to be more anxious. Get another echo after your heart has had time to heal. You have received good advice. Hang in there. Stuff like this can cause some medical anxiety/PTSD. Find good doctors and be assertive about getting the best care! And feel free to vent to us!! You are not alone!!
Agree with MeganMN - vent here. Your probably know all this but ordinary EF is anything over 50%. It is a measure of how much blood the left ventricle is pushing out when the heart contracts. No heart does 100% and most do somewhere between 50 and 60%. Being under 50% can also be ordinary for some people. My husband's was 23% and the cardiologists are hoping that medication will bring it up to the 40% or better. It has been a slow and frustrating process getting the right medication and dosage sorted and it has not been easy to stick with it as some take the body a week or more to get used to. All very difficult to cope with while working two jobs when you need things better now but as far as we can see this is not something that can be worked out quickly.
those with heart failure anything below 50% and 35% is considered mild. Im at 38% , took 17 months to grt there post stents.
I was 25% on discharge.
on admission after my HA a year ago my EF was 30%, post AVR it is now 60%+. I’m 71, that level of EF is considered normal for my age.
