Have recently requested my medical details from my GP. There is a condition listed as "Ventricular Dilatation". I don't know anything about this, and the web results on it are misleading and contradictory. Can anyone shed any light on it?

Ventricular dilatation of the heart is a rather advanced state of heart muscle weakness. The ventricles start off as enlarged or hypertrophied from high BP or other heart abnormalities. As the pathology persists the thickened walls of the ventricle start to weaken and dilate which weakens its degree of contractility leading to eventual congestive heart failure.
