Valve problems...

After an echo, my partner has been told by the GP that 2 of his valves aren't working properly.. the echo hasn't been uploaded to his notes, so as yet we're not sure which valves are involved. He's been referred to Cardiology at the local hospital and had a letter saying patients are triaged according to clinical need.

He's 73, has a pacemaker, with the battery successfully changed in January.

His mental health isn't great at the best of times, and we feel at the moment that we're just staring into the abyss...

Aw sorry to hear your partner is dealing with so much 💔. Hope he's not waiting long for his referral to cardiology. That's odd they didn't give a detailed explanation of the echo findings??. I have valve problems aswell I have bicuspid aortic valve moderate to severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis and I have had this problem since birth and will eventually need a new valve fitted. Usually they just watch and wait and check up with an echo and ecg 1 to 2 years or depending on the severity every 6 months. Wish you all the best and keep us updated on how your partner is getting on x

Thank you for replying:)Today we have received a cardiology appt for 12th July.. which is great, although he's now worried as the automated letter we received at the beginning of the week said we would only get a response within 10 working days if they thought it was urgent after triaging by the team.

I'm just pleased we have an appointment, and something to work towards
