late edit: Please DO NOT make political comments in response to this post, this is not the place for them
If you claim or think you might need to claim PIP please consider having your say in the consultation process about proposed changes outlined in "Modernising support for independent living: the health and disability green paper" - the full paper can be found here: gov.uk/government/consultat...
Whatever the outcome of the coming election t is important to voice your opinions - whichever party is in control they will be looking for ways to "reallocate funds", so please try to take the time to express your opinions.
It is a long document but Benefits and Work have summed it up here (other agencies will have produced similar articles): benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/... - through this link you can also access the online consultaion form and a copy of the Benefits and Work response which you can. use as a model for your own ( if you agree with it)
This could affect you or someone you care about.

my pleasure - i just hope it does not breach any group rules, but as queries about benefits come up regularly I feel it's important for members to be aware
Thanks fishonabike, I saw the other day that there was a green paper regarding PIP. Yet another way that our caring (corrupt) government can penalise the poor and vulnerable whilst pocketing millions for the MP's and the already too rich to spend it all 😡 I'm not politically biased, they are all scammers (I choose my words mindfully).
i understand your views but this post is not about the political issues involved and i have purposefully kept my tone neutral - if you wish to express your views about the current or future government please do it elsewhere
Did I indicate a specific party? I didn't intend to. My views are perfectly valid. Whilst you may not appreciate them, I'm sure others do. I am sorry if I caused you individually offence. But I do retain my right to express my views.
this is not about political candidates - the consultation process is a regular process, mostly involving civil servants in the relevant department - they write reports for the relevant politicians who are, by then in govenment
the consultation process closes after the election which was announced after it started, so it will have no connection with the election process
It is, however, valid to make any politician, hopeful or elected, aware of what is important to you otherwise how can they faithfully represent their electorate.
I have applied for PIP for my daughter. It was eventually granted. No-one was demonised. The law said she was eligible, we applied and she has the income that the law says she should.
We should not being political discussions into this forum.
fishonabike - I’m sorry if you thought my response was to your original post - it wasn’t meant to be, and I really appreciate the work you’ve done to bring this to our attention.
My response was to those who seemed to bringing politics into this.
