After my TAVI, I continued on Ramipril to reduce blood pressure and was put on Clopidogrel anti-coagulant. My GP was insistent that I needed an antacid and bizarrely prescribed Omeprazole - many authoritative websites warn against taking this in conjunction with Clopidogrel. My surgeon said that it wasn't necessary in my case. My GP then prescribed Lansoprazole: again my surgeon said that it wasn't necessary. After more than two months of stomach discomfort, I started taking Lansoprazole and within 48 hours my symptoms reduced.
