I have had 2 ablations and sadly they worked for a very short time - a few days, then I returned to arrhythmia. Great while it lasted -felt like I was flying up the stairs!

They must work for others though otherwise they wouldn't still do them.

The procedure was fine - no problem with having it done.

To me it was very successful. I had a cardioversion which solved my atrial flutter for a just a few months before it returned. An ablation was done about 18 months ago and I’m still in sinus rhythm.

I had my ablation 2 years ago, the procedure was well explained and went well, they have been doing these for years now. Recovery was good and home early the next day.

Hi, it was explained to me that my ablation was 66% effective and if I have to have another it would be 99% effective. Found the procedure easy and recovery quick. The team who health care for me have been fantastic but unfortunately I contracted covid and my rhythm went back into AF and 48 hours. However this was put back into sinus rhythm via another cardio version and have been in rhythm since. Good luck with it and I hope your experience is positive. 🤞

I think the success rate can vary depending on the type of ablation . Mine was for ventricular ectopics (not the same as yours)and I was told that typically there was 80/85 per cent as the ectopics were coming from a particular area of the heart. The rate may be lower for AF but the procedure would only be recommended if the doctors think it is worth doing in terms of cost benefit analysis . They should take you through all this before the procedure and when you sign the consent formm The procedure in my case wasn’t remotely as bad as I thought it would be . Very efficient and no complications. Best wishes for your procedure
