I had valve and aorta replacement 2 years ago because of lack of blood to brain before op I’ve lost loads of core memories of life and married life my wife who I’m now left has said it completely changed me as a person. Has anyone suffered with similar?

Hi Andydp, sorry that you are having such a hard time. I don’t have any personal experience with this. Maybe someone else will have something more to contribute.

What I can say is that where there are personality changes it maybe worthwhile to talk to your GP.

It is also never a waste of time to see a psychologist. I am aware though that this is not always possible for many people.

Hi

I have experienced something a-little similar recently after having a valve replacement.

I got told it is normal and part of the emotions from surgery.
