finally managed to tolerate 10mg bisoporol without too many issues so contacted hr department to see if after 10 months sick leave they would let me come back to work .anyway they have agreed to let me back on a phased return .half days but not allowed to drive to and from work .not really a problem or so I thought I’m using the train service 😂I’d be better walking first 5 days and 3 trains cancelled and one 40 minutes late .anyway work has never been so tough and I’m glad when lunch time comes I’m going home shattered and sore but I’m really glad that I’m back building again anyway it can only get better

back to work
Hello
Always so good to read a positive post gives hope to others to
I am so glad you are back at work on a phased return well done x
thanks .getting back onto the golf course is my next hurdle
thanks for all your support
Good on you getting back. I’m in a similar position having just started back phased a couple of weeks back, I’d been off for 3 months. My advice would be to absolutely stick rigorously to the hours you’ve been given from your work and don’t do any more, you will get knackered! All about building things back up.
All the very best.
thanks for the advice much appreciated . I’ve no intentions of overdoing it it’s taken a long time to get to here and I’m not jeopardising it for an extra couple hours .
It takes time Gussy - just listen to your body and take it from there my friend… 🙂👍🙏
Hi Gussy
I work in HR myself and I’m so pleased to hear that you’re enjoying being back at work - even if the trains haven’t been playing ball!
Just make sure you communicate with your manager openly; you’re bound to feel tired after such a long stint away but know it’s ok to let them know if you feel the current arrangement might be too much right now or you need them to delay any increase in hours as it should be a dialogue and agreement between you and your manager. Only you know what feels right for you at the moment so don’t be afraid to speak up if it does feel too much at any point. They’ll appreciate your honesty and any employer worth their salt will be far more interested in supporting you to keep you in work than pushing you and risking you becoming unwell again 🙂
oh and in my opinion, if you’re offered a referral to occupational health, take it - they can be really helpful if done correctly.
Apologies if I sound like a broken record!
Best wishes
