hi everyone not posted in a while but love reading all your post, it’s always made me feel better about my eptopic beats which I’ve suffered for over 40 years .. but I seem to be getting more and more of these awful episodes of like a flutter that fells like my heart is trying to beat but can’t which makes me feel like Iam going to faint , and I get this pressure in my head I guess there’s no blood going to my head .. it’s so scary . I’ve been to GP had 24hr tape etc . Don’t really think they have ever caught it happening so I get fobbed off it stress , nothing to worry about! My husband had Alzheimer’s and yes I do get stressed but just wondering if anyone else suffers like this ..

I had a flutter yesterday then “things” seemed to get stuck / stop. Very off putting! Then nothing else other than usual angina.
I was per gp referred for 24hr ecg as had struggled to get hold of cardiologist but then did get hold and now booked in for 7 day one next month.
Mine aren’t all the time but are definitely a flutter or flip/flop sensation and a few times a pause or “stuck” feeling. It’s usually when I’m resting and relaxed and I.e. distracted by telly and so don’t think it’s because I’m anxious they just happen. Also happens when in bed. But I couldn’t predict them.
I’d be persistent (I’m sure you’ve tried already) and ask for a seven day ecg emphasising patterns especially if episodes intermittent / sporadic.
ah thank you for your reply , I think Iam going to see my GP again and ask for 7 day one , as it’s happening a lot lately .. good to know Iam not the only one ..
Ask your gp to run full bloods including electrolytes. It's amazing the range of symptoms that can happen if there is an issue with anything like this. I'd say it's always worth ruling out Good luck!
I had palpitations for years without them being able to catch an event. They really worried me. My GP started ordering tests eg a holter monitor, ECG and such with nothing at all happening when I had them until eventually he sent me for a stress test ( treadmill). Once again I had no palpitations but luckily they left the electrodes attached while I sat down to rest and bingo, a good long run of ectopic beats. FInally they were able to see where they were coming from and assured me they were harmless. Once I knew, I was slowly able to stop worrying about them and the less I worried, the f ewer I had. They didn't stop right away but gradually reduced over a year or so. I still get occasional ones when I'm stressed like yesterday but otherwise haven't had any in about 8 years.
I had ectopics for years then short fast flutters which were eventually diagnosed as supra ventricular tachycardia when one day the flutter didn’t stop and I ended up in A&E.
After using the valsalva manoeuvre I converted back into sinus rhythm and they gave me beta blockers. I now take Bisoprolol 2.5mg a day for it - a beta blocker. SVT is a benign heart arrhythmia so not life threatening. I’m on the waiting list for an ablation to hopefully get rid of it for good. Heart arrhythmias are notoriously difficult to diagnose as you need to capture it on an ECG to confirm. I finally got a diagnosis in A&E when it was captured on an ECG.
