Today started quite standard, Dan woke everyone (me) up but banging around the house getting ready for work at 5am, I went to work and was teaching about the 50's and the USA in the early 1900's, at break around 10:07 I went into the staff from and the radio was on playing "Daniel" around 11, my phone kept ringing from an unknown number, as I was at work I didn't answer and when I finished I forgot to listen to my voicemails. I got home from work and a police car was outside my house (I half expected Dan to get out) two officers got out one I recognised and said hi, and asked about Dan, the asked if they could come in, at this point I started panicking, we sat down and explained that although as far as they know Dan is okay he was in a car accident, at 10:07 his police car was chasing another car and there was a collision, the police car flipped Dan's colleague manage to get out straight away and radio for help, but Dan was knocked unconscious. By the time the paramedics came Dan was awake and talking, they got him out of the car and rushed him up to hospital he'd had a x-ray and CT scan. The police officers took me up to hospital to see him where I checked with Dan's Dad who was aware but was in a meeting but he'll come up asap, but if I could let him know, how he was.
At the hospital I was shown to the resus and finally saw Dan, he had a neck brace on as waiting for the x-ray results he has a few cuts and bruises but mostly okay, although he was being sick and sometimes bringing up blood, The consultant came in and said the x-ray showed no broken neck but a broken collarbone. So the neck brace came off but a sling went on for his shoulder. A little bit later the CT came back the time the consultant came in with a neurologist, the CT shows a bleed on the brain (subdural haematoma) and they want to operate (craniotomy) tonight. Dan was quite calm, however I wasn't, (crying and vomiting) The nurses and doctors got me some water and Dan managed to calm me down. I've called Dan's Dad and siblings, and importantly I called Mum, Dan told me to go home and he'll ask the nurses to call me when he is out of surgery. Mum came to pick me up and she's saying tonight, Dan's Dad is also on his way up and staying with me.
I've even prayed ππ» for the first time in years that the surgery will go well.

π¦ V thank God heβs responding and able to talk. I hope the surgery goes well. Take care of yourself too. I would love to know how heβs doing once surgery finishes x
Last week at the home a colleague had a stroke but thankfully they caught it in time and she is recovering well with the relevant treatment!
How are you and Dylan getting on?
Baby is great and had her 20th birthday party last Saturday and I was knackered after having done 2 Γ 12 hour shifts Thursday and Friday last week and did a Sunday afternoon one for them to help out as the colleague who had the stroke was due to have done Sunday afternoon so the manager asked around and asked me would I like to do it and I had said yes I can do that for you no problem as I had nothing special planned last Sunday so it seemed mean to say no when there was no reason why I couldn't help out so I did that for her along with a long day on Monday where I got nagged at over petty things and I had a chat with the manager who was very nice and sympathetic and told the people off that were nagging and being petty and they were all fine with me after that!
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! What a terrible shock it must be. It's good that his neck/spine are ok and that he is awake and talking. Surgery sounds very scary and it will be an anxious wait for you all, but hopefully it will all go smoothly.I wish there was something I could do to take this fear and worry away, I'm sorry you are going through this. He's in the right place and receiving the treatment he needs though, which is good.
Sending you lots of love β€οΈ and I am praying for you all π
Stay strong, you are doing an amazing job! So pleased Dan is out of surgery and starting to recover. Hopefully you will have more support today from family and friends with you. Prayed for Dan and you. Keep us updated. Sending love xx
Hopefully everything will be fine like it is with my colleague who had a stroke at the home last week and they caught it in time and she is doing well in recovering.
So sorry to hear that, you must be so worried, I hope everything goes well with surgery, I will be thinking about you both, take care and keep us posted how Dan gets on . Take care char x
Valentina, the best thing you can do at this moment is to pray. God is able to see you both through this. If you have friends who can support you in prayer as well as in company and errands etc that will be great. I know of someone who is recovering from a stroke and has just moved to a rehab hospital but nurses who had looked after him said that they couldn't believe he had survived. His sister was and is praying for him daily. And I pray also for Dan's full and complete recovery and for you to know the peace of God which passes all understanding. May God bless and see you both through. In Jesus's name.
Oh my goodness V I've just seen this,I'm so sorry I hope all has gone well with Dan's surgery and I really hope you are ok too....you are both in my thoughts and prayers xx
oh no Valentina Just when everything was going so well for you Good news that is awake and talking I will keep the prayers up for you that ALL WILL BE WELL
Oh Valentina, so sorry Dan's been in a horrendous car accident. I hope that the surgery went well and that he is recovering.
It's so good that the family is rallying round. I hope you managed to get some sleep after that nightmare, and I'm sure you are glad that you managed to finish your day's teaching, even if it meant that you didn't pick up your messages.
Presumably, you still have to go in to work during the day, so remember to take care of yourself and TGIF tomorrow. We look forward to hearing some good news soon.
