LVH with NORMAL bp

Just wondering if anyone is the same or can just chat about their experience.

I’ve been diagnosed with thickened left ventricle but have been given no guidance and I’m not on any medication for it.

Is it classed as heart failure?

What can I do to help?

Does it go away?

Can it cause a heart attack later on in life?

I am worried due to the flutters I get in my chest etc but the GP dismissed it.

Thanks 😊

hi have they said if it’s mild, moderate or severe? This can have a bearing on whether medication / treatment is needed.

regardless if you have symptoms and they won’t go away then it’s worth pursuing with GP, sometimes you have to be persistent.

I had an echo in 2022 that states I have LV concentric remodelling- it gets thicker on the inside but looks normal size on the outside I think is what that means from research. It’s been shown in research to be associated with my congenital heart defect.

But a cardiologist said it was mild so therefore they don’t acknowledge it / treat it.

Some more information from cardiologist/ GP about the LV and it’s severity may put your mind at rest. And the GP’s justification for dismissing the fluttering would be useful to know / understand.

👍

Hiya, Thanks for your reply. They never said whether it was mild or moderate, so I think it would be worth while being persistent and trying to get some answers from the GP.

Thanks again :)

Yes definitely, having a clearer idea helps us understand and process things, and can help with any anxiety about what it all means for us. Good luck let us know how it goes.

👍
