Hi.I am due to have the above test in a week and I was wondering if it will leave me feeling exhausted as ive got work the following day.
Im not looking forward to it to be honest the idea of having my heart artificially sped up is a worry to me.

I’m fairly sure this is what my husband had a few months ago. He found it entirely painless (and interesting) and was fine after. I had a quick Google and it’s says half-life of two minutes, so the effect should be entirely gone by the time you get home I’d have thought.
but as ever this is just my thoughts, it could be different for you and if you are expecting a stressful day at work after it might be wise to offload some of your work on to someone else???
I had a bad reaction to dobutamine and my test had to be stopped and rescheduled for another day with a different stress agent as my heart rate was going up too quickly and the chest pain was severe. As a result, my records state that I can no longer have dobutamine administered to me. However, it is very commonly used during stress tests without any significant issues for most people. I took the following day off work as a precaution.
It might be a good idea to take someone with you as we all recover at different paces.
Good luck for the test.

Hello
It does sound daunting but they do this test all the time and you will be in safe hands
I would see if I could take the next day of work just to relax and have someone to bring you home after but I am sure you will be fine look at Happyrosie reply full of positivity that should help and let us know how you get on x
Thanks for the replies. I will most likely book the next day off. My return to work plan makes allowances for having extra tests.
No you won't
I had this investigation a a month or so ago ...I don't know if my experience was typical - but I didn't really notice very much at all...barely noticed the increased HR - and certainly no fatigue, either at the time - or the day after..Bit of an anti-climax really... Good luck with yours...
I went back to work straight after mine with no issue and I only work 5 mins from the hospital . The only issue I had , they had trouble getting my heart rate up to the set goal , got there in the end ha
I had that test, no coffee, tea etc for the required amount of time before the test, drove myself to the hospital, I didn’t feel much stress at all from the drug, more from being in the hospital to be honest, climbing stairs is more stressful, after the test drove home, I think having the treadmill option would be a different scenario, like an MOT tester testing a diesel engine emissions, pedal to the metal, hope it doesn’t blow up.
