Hi,Just had my new aorta valve 2 weeks ago.

Feeling great, however I feel like someone is pressing their hand on the right side of my chest, anyone else had this feeling and will it go?

Thanks

hi. I had TAVI procedure for AORTIC VALVE replacement a year ago, and have had absolutely no problems of any sort. However, maybe you had open heart surgery, in which case I can’t advise you. Wish you a complete speedy recovery!!

I had a very successful replacement valve. The recovery period was long and covid meant no rehab. I took things slowly and walked a little everyday, building up the distance by a few yards each day. And chatting whilst I walked. I was thrilled with how well things went. At about your stage the two stitches were removed. If they haven’t yet been removed I think you need to ask when.

Do you have a number to ring regarding your op ? I had that number and it was reassuring to simply hear all was well.

Alternatively, the BHF nurses will tell you what is needed.

Enjoy having your life back.

Hi, pleased to hear you feel so well, in such a short space of time - after such a major op. (I had O.H.S to replace a mitral valve 9 months ago and didn’t leave hospital for 2 weeks!)

It felt like there was a pallet of bricks sitting on my chest for weeks after, (whilst my sternum was knitting back together) - with the ribs on both sides super tender too. I wld ring and ask your Cardiac Rehab Nurse to put your mind at rest. But after only 2 wks - fingers crossed you’re doing great! Long may it continue!
