First session yesterday! Gym looked like a torture chamber 🤣Talked through all the equipment as I embarked..not as hard as I thought.. physio very reassuring and pulse oximeter used to monitor me. Great banter amongst the 3 ladies and numerous men...🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿All activities timed and no pressure..enjoyed it!! A bit stiff in places today ..just getting old!!😆 👵🏻

Hello :-)

I never got to go to Rehab and when you said it looked like a torture chamber I thought goodness I would have been straight out :-)

But it sounds like along with having banter with others which always helps you enjoyed it was monitored which would have given me lots of confidence and I am so pleased you enjoyed it even though you are aching today but not because you are old because they obviously had you working out look at it that way :-) x

I too missed out on rehab and the support that that can give. Sounds like fun, Catwifie, if that's the right word 😅

I have my first appointment on the 21st

glad you enjoyed it and it had a social factor too

Sadly here in Oxfordshire it's NOT available to heart valve replacement patients like myself but is available to all other heart conditions, waiting lists for it very long, money short

So if your offered it take that brilliant opportunity

I'm just doing walks and BHF YouTube videos rehab at home, both very solitary activities

I'm in the West of Scotland which has the worst heart disease rates in Scotland so they are all over it. Health partnerships with councils mean we can use their leisure centre facilities. I had my heart attack while visiting my bestie in Aberdeen..NHS Grampian and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have both been excellent and timely. I feel for you..🥰

That sounds brilliant-like everyone should get it not just heart patients. Good for mental and physical health and imagine the saving to the NHS of preventative measures that helped us all not need so much medical input as we get older.

Such a shame that school sports seems to turn off so many, especially non sporty children . I hated all team sport things and was and felt useless, I am left handed and short sighted and short legged, a bad combo for tennis/netball etc . I’ve since as an older adult loved doing fitness classes, group gym classes , slow running etc. but when money is tight , gym membership is not going to be feasible for so many and the habit and fitness is going to be optimal if maintained .

I hope it’s much improved and more encouraging of everyone, not just the most able at school now.

Not what you're looking for?
