I started mine a month ago. Of anything like Basingstoke hospital for first session you go a bit early where they will check all your vitals and do a walk test where you literally walk end to end of the room tosee what happens to your bp etc. Then set you an excercise routine that consists of fairly easy reps of cardio and resting excercises ofa minute. As you progress weekly the ratio of cardio to resting increases. I am now on 4:1 after 4 weeks. I've attached a picture of my previous 3:1 workout. Each exercise is 1 minute and I do 2 circuits. Doesn't sound much but is enough post OHS😳

3:1 cardio rep excercise

About an hour. First session an hour and half but that's because I had assessment and straight onto first session. I believe some places just assess you then book you in for future sessions. Probably worth checking with your hospital as to what they do beforehand

When I did my cardio rehab sessions in 2018 at the local hospital they lasted between one and a half to two hours. I had six sessions in all. Each session involved various exercises and a talk on the different aspects of rehab, such as diet and regular exercise. I was not required to do any exercises I could not do, although some were challenging. The group I was in was very mixed both in gender, physical ability and age. The supervising staff were very helpful and always open to questions.

I had a preliminary session where I did the walking test, and was weighed and asked a few simple questions about my health and what I could do - about 45 mins.

The actual sessions lasted an hour, twice a week for 8 weeks, with a warm-up, circuits of varied exercises, then a cool down. There was also a weekly talk given by various experts, on diet, meds, mental health issues etc, which you could attend if you wished,

I have just started cardio rehab.

I first went to an assessment which was like a walking bleep test. I was then presentee with options of doing ththe hospitals rehab or being fast tracked to a leisure centre.

I chose the hospitals which takes place one a week. There are 8 of us in the session. We start off with a warm up (lots or marching) and then move around a cardio circuit (half jacks, step ups, knees, tap backs and exercise bike)

After we move to weights and do two rounds of three exercises. This is followed by a cool down and stretch.

There is then a 15 to 30 min education session. Ive had exercise at home and medication so far.
