I have read that it takes three days to wear off, so please talk to your pharmacist or doctor for more advice.

It can take a few weeks if not longer for side effects to subside. I had real leg muscle problems with Atorvastatin - I still have issue with Rovistatin but a bit less. Think I should have something to reduce cholesterol so I’m staying on it but I might see if there other issues

I’m only into day 2 of stopping today, no difference in pain levels , I was v busy yesterday, over 16k steps around the farm. This morning I noticed a small change in the tinnitus, a bit quieter and it’s more of a ringing than a whooshing 🤦🏼..

Hello,

It can take up to 2/3 weeks or longer for the statin to withdraw from your system, the doctors can measure within your blood if the statin is still in your system.

I am speaking from personal experience and using two different statins. They will slowly wear down.

Best

Patrick

Thanks Patrick, I’m interested to see if any of my symptoms subside in that time … tinnitus, cognitive impairments, aches pains in joints /muscles etc ..

just hang in there, if you still have the aches and pains in 2 weeks go back to your doctor, but likely your symptoms will get better.

Wishing you the best

Patrick

I came off atorvastatin about 5 years ago to see if they were causing increased pain. I had to be off them for at least 3 weeks before my doctor could be sure. I did change to simvastatin because atorvastatin was affecting my stomach badly but it was NOT causing the pain. Ask your chemist but you do need to be off them for at least 3 weeks to know if it makes a difference.
