.......when it comes. I say that because there's still time to keel over before it comes. 😂. Seriously though, the new year in Scotland used to be a memorable time. You were welcome in anyone's house even if you didn't know them, there was always plenty food to eat, dreadful singing but there was always good ones as well.
Many great friendships were forged on Hogmanay and the early hours of the New Year. Sadly, most of the old traditions have gone and i miss them terribly. I've been in bed before the bells for the last few years but i often think of the good times gone by. It really was magical.
I was diagnosed with serious heart failure in September with a blood clot to go with it. In November i had an MRI scan which thankfully showed no sign of the clot, then an ICD implanted. This all came out of the blue for me and was terrifying. My darling wife has been wonderful in caring for me.
Suffice it to say i'm happy to see the back of 2023. Let's hope 2024 is a better year for us all and i hope you all get what you wish for.
