I was blue lighted to A&E in the early hours last Saturday with a pain in my right side, chest height that stopped me moving and made breathing nigh impossible. Happened instantly I stood up to pay bathroom a visit, like I’d been stabbed. I felt sure my lung had collapsed or clot, although on blood thinners. After half hour I called 999, I am widow, live alone so ambulance was upgraded to cat.1. Crew suspected pleurisy or pericarditis, casualty dr thought spontaneous thoracic spinal compression fracture. fist ECG at home was sinus rhythm but incomplete right bundle branch block, later in hospital was NSR only with old anterior infarction, which is always on them. No waiting in corridor, straight to majors, X-rays, morphine and pain subsided ??? Cause, probably muscular skeletal. Been twingey but generally ok this week, couple doses oromorph has helped.
Does anyone have any experience of RBBB. And with PAF?
Couldn’t fault the care and speed of attention at Colchester Hospital but the aircon was so cold and apparently no one knew how to turn it off! lol.
hope you’re all ok and thank you for reading so far 🦊x

Hi, so glad you had speedy and effective help. I have PAF but not RBBB, so can't be a great deal of help, and I've also found the cause of my AF so I'm not typical.I do empathise with your situation, I'm single and live alone in a very rural area and my problems usually happened at night and it's always more scary then.
You're welcome. I've been having issues for nearly 3 years, and there have been times that were so frustrating, trying to get information let alone advice. The British Heart Foundation have a lot of good information on their website, and their cardiac nurses on the helpline are amazing. Tel no: 0300 330 3311. They are open Mon - Fri, something like 9 - 5.
Hi in September 2022 i had a quadruple heart bypass but id been complaining of pain in my right side since 2019.No one would take it serious and pain has been getting worse and slightly out of breath. It only comes on once a month for two or three days but the pain is getting stronger, feels to be in the lung and through to shoulder. After protesting to GP about lack of attention the friends in the pub suggested might be gall stones so i went and told the GP.An ultra sound found no gall stones but a kidney tumour which has now hopefully been treated.
My point is i still have the right sided pain but it seems a big inconvenience to get seen by anyone. The GPs think because ive been treated for the kidney cancer they dont have to bother anymore with the chest pain.I asked to be referred to hospital in July and in November after protesting about the wait they hadnt referred me at all00
goodness, glad u had scan and kidney cancer sorted. Gallbladder gone couple years ago, kidney scan recently all ok. Thank you for yr reply. We are a complicated bunch but it seems to take ages to get answers or resolve. Take care 🦊x
