LEFT BUNDLE BRANCH BLOCK

After being referred by my cardiologist for an ECG I noted LBBB but it was never explained to me what this meant. Lately just this week I have been experiencing ectopic heart beats even at rest which have made me breathless. I had been advised I was borderline LVNC

Hi you may find this info' from the BHF helpful.

bhf.org.uk/heart-health/con...

It makes me so mad when medical staff give you a diagnosis but fail to explain what it is. What I would recommend is you write to your consultant and ask for an explanation or on your next visit ask lots of questions to clarify. Your GP may also be of help.

Hope this is helpful.

Regards Ron.

Thank you Sturon. What happened was she had been referring all the other patients for ECG before consultation but in my case it was the reverse of this. She had already informed me I had a heart defect after diagnosing possible angina but they would refer me back within 2 years again. I just left and returned to work after this. I noted the LBBB from the results of my ECG

I too have this it is cardiac conduction abnormality seen on the electrocardiogram (ECG). In this condition, activation of the left ventricle of the heart is delayed, which causes the left ventricle to contract later than the right ventricle.i was told not to worry? Well, I am worried as I have shown my ECG scan to a cardio group and one doc said I have got LAFB and LAD? which I knew my DX was LBBB & LAD. so really in layman terms its an electrical problem causing ectopic beats. which I have had for years. I have no clue whats going on neither does my doctor.

Hi Juls. Thank you for your reply. During the early stages of my investigation I discovered by chance I was under investigation for Brugada Syndrome even my own GP commented before she had never heard of this hence I didn't have it. Also told I had a heart murmur at hospital. My own GP omitted to inform me about this. I haven't been too bothered about the ectopic beats until this week for some reason. Remember saying to another GP before about symptoms I had and was told if I experienced a pins and needles sensation in my hand only then to seek medical advice. Hope you get things sorted. It is the unknown that is maddening. My husband like refer to me as a medical mystery lol

Funny you should say that Brugada was also mentioned, your right I'm joining you with the medical mystery I have this irritating I wouldn't say pain in left arm more as numbness underside radiation down left arm always cold maybe a trapped nerve see and my hands are always tingly hahaha might go find a good vet give me a stent hahaha

I had the same pain you are describing too juls just thought I had lay awkward on my left arm. I actually had to go to my GP about it but it was put down to being muscular but I remember the pain was wild and I had to put a support on my hand and sometimes I experience pins and needs down my left arm too. Let me know how you get on at the vets lol might go there myself. I have been going for various tests now ECG, Ecocardiogram, 48 hour holter machine and 3 MRIs the last one in November 2016 was the worst whereby my cardiologist was almost sure it was angina but told me in January 2017 it was a heart defect but they would keep an eye on things and review me again in 1-2 years

When I was diagnosed with lbbb and a list of other things wrong with my heart, it was frightening. This was after an angiogram. The consultant was very nice, but so busy with others. I didn't understand either, what all this meant. I understand what a worry it is for you, and the best thing to do is to try talking with your GP and find out what these strange medical things mean. I admit to Googling and frightening myself. I also had to return to the cardiologist in his clinic a few months later and he explained things in a much calmer atmosphere. Its a good idea to note down any specific things that you want to know, as its so easy to forget to ask!

Good luck, I hope you feel better about things soon.

Hi Sue. I did mention this to my GP at my last appointment and she said she would request another appointment to be seen by someone at cardiology but again couldn't say when. Hope you are keeping well
