Hello :-)

I am so sorry to read the mess you are in you must be feeling so distressed

I would contact the Consultants receptionist and leave messages email if you have an email address and keep doing it till they get back to you stressing the mess you are in

I would also contact my Doctors Surgery and stress to them what mess you are in regarding the medications and need a Doctors call if they have no appointments

I would also phone the pharmacist up tell them you have tried to contact you Consultant and getting no reply but these are the side effects you are getting which you cannot cope with and see what advice they can give you

Do not feel you are a nuisance to any of them you need to get this sorted so keep contacting them till they listen to you

Let us know how you get on :-) x

I was dizzy for nearly 2 weeks from first taking Bisoprolol but read that I should weigh up the benefits against side affects. The dizziness has since passed. Hope you feel OK..

Hi Lilyblossom, sorry to hear you are struggling. How long were you on the bisoprolol for? It does cause dizziness, but like the others say, it can go after a while. I have been on it for a couple of years and still get the odd dizzy turn. May be worth your trying it again. The dizziness (for me anyway) was mostly when getting up in the morning, an excuse for a few more minutes in bed 😀

I came out in these huge blisters all over my body really itchy rang my drs told to go see them the following morning if it hadn’t changed or if it got worse ring 111 few hours later I was blacking out. I woke on bathroom floor struggle to living room blackout again rang 111 who realise by my blur words I needed an ambulance I fell into one of their arms blacking out and next I knew I was in a hospital bed on drip with fractured shoulder and broken ribs that was all down to a a chemist giving me medicine I should’ve been given with my other medication. Which caused me to be allergic to it. I would be pushing to be seen someone if I was you. I spent 10 days in hospital having an allergic reaction to something should be taken seriously that’s what the doctor told me in hospital

yes this was last year I’m glad you got to speak to someone because I know when I rang my drs I was fob off as not serious hospital dr said anyone who feels something doesn’t feel right should push at GPS and also when you get new medication get them to double check it against what you already taken. I just presume that a pharmacist would have checked for me. Before issuing it.

So sorry to hear this , as if being treated for a heart condition isn't bad enough. I was given prosagral after my stents were fitted and came out in hives from head to toe my face dropped on one side and had face swelling I thaught I was dying, I presented myself at A& E it was just as covid was rife, they weren't intrested I had been ill for about 14 days in the end I took photos of myself and sent them to the cardiologist nurse I was back in hospital within a couple of hours the medication was killing all my white cells ! I was in an isolation room for 10 days until they figured out what was causing it ...so please just inform everyone and anyone about how your feeling don't give up, it's your well being and I'm sure all you want is to feel normal again. 😊

I am on bisoprol. 2.5mg twice a day, following OHS last year. Like many say, it does make you dizzy to start with, mainly because it slows your heart rate and lowers your BP. However I've been on them for a year, along with several other heart drugs. And now it's just part of my daily routine. I just have to remember not to stand up too quickly, especially first thing in the morning. I would perceivere with them rather than some of the alternatives, which def have worse side effects

I was given diltiazem a couple of months ago because I can't tolerate bisopralol either. Luckily I'd only taken it for one day when I came out in a rash. I stopped it immediately with no further ill effects. Some antihistamines shouldn't be taken with heart meds. I wonder if you were given a wrong one but you don't sound good. I would phone 111 if yoru GP isn't helping.

Sorry to hear about your allergic reaction.I have been on bisoporol for over 5 years. It was nolonger effective in treating my Angina. I have changed 3 weeks ago yo Adizem and have had no side effects at all.

I suggest you go back to your cardiologist immediately

The sooner the better

Would a lower dose of the Bisop be possible ? Check with your Dr, I've found they tend to put you on the maximum dose when a lower dose might be effective. You might also get used to the side effects.
