Hi Cheryl,

I’m really sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. I can imagine it is a very scary and worrying time for you. You may find some more useful information on the Cardiomyopathy UK charity site. They also have a number where you can speak to a nurse that specialises in cardiomyopathy which you may benefit from and asking more detailed questions to get a better understanding of your condition and to help put your mind at ease.

I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help but I am sending positive thoughts and strength your way.

All the best.

Tos

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. I also have an enlarged heart and this has been greatly reduced in the past year with medication. I understand you are already on meds, but it is the only way. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Cheryl, yes can be quite scary the unknown. The concoction of tablets will help you a lot.I am sure you can improve your condition one day at a time.I have dilated cardiomyopathy and now doing more energetic exercise than I was before diagnosis.Lots of Love You can do it.

Hi Cheryl, yep one almighty shock when your told you have a heart problem. But we are the luck ones who have a second chance.Your fear and anxiety are your minds way of coping by slowly accepting your situation.Take a bit of time to get fully diagnosed and see a cardiologist.Took me about two months then had a crtd device fitted six months later. With the tabs and device ime now pretty good phisicaly and mentally although ie built up my physio over a couple of years, just moving a bit further each day or even week.Hope this helps Cheryl feel free if you need any other advice.By the way I sleep with earplugs in and concentrate on my breathing.Usually asleep within twenty minutes.x

Can you speak to your GP. Assuming they will have the same information as you have, and may be able to set your mind at rest re medication
