Heart echo results

Hi all I was just wondering roughly how long people are waiting for results of a heart echo in the current situation?

I had my echo yesterday which was a follow up due in March after my heart attack last November.

As I casually asked the nurse afterwards if everything seemed okay, she replied “well nothing really bad, but will have to compare against your last echo” which to be honest didn’t fill me with the most confidence 😂. Now I’m just going to be anxious until I get this results.

Thanks!

Hi there - just walked out of my latest echo (first in 18 months) and got a similarly non-committal response when I asked!

Par for the course, and we now have the joy of waiting for one of those lovely, brutally clinical ‘private & confidential’ letters to arrive 😬. Felling good though, so hopefully it will be a ‘no change’ at worst. The race is on!

I had my latest echo on 31st August and I'm still waiting for my results 16 days later.

It took 3 and a half weeks for my results to arrive last month. It was the first after my AVR last summer so anxiously awaited. And the letter was brief but said all ok. The relief was immense.

I had my echocardiogram in May and received my results by letter in July. No chance to discuss anything, been waiting 5 yrs now to see my cardiologist to ask various questions. My result appeared v good, said my right side of my heart was good...... she didn't mention the left side at all or whats causing the angina either. So the next time I ended up in hospital, with yet more constant significant arrhythmias (VFs) a few weeks later, I got to ask the on duty cardiologist plenty. He recommended I try new meds with a follow up at ICD clinic 4 weeks later plus an appointment with my cardiologist. The meds were so awful I had to stop taking them but I've heard nothing from the clinic since. Im so fed up with chasing up everyone, they used to be so efficient, if they said you'd have an appointment you'd get one, and they always followed through with their word. After emailing cardiology I do now have a telephone appointment in a few weeks time which will be by one of my cardiologists 'team'. My GP couldn't advise on my meds, she wanted me to wait until I had my appointment first but I was so ill on them I couldn't wait any longer. I don't know whether the dosage was too high or if its just more reactions to meds but can't split the capsules so my treatments had to stop completely until I get advice. I really think treatment/appointments vary depending on different areas. They do seem to have a backlog though but its stressful waiting to ask about all the ongoing problems with your cardiac health. I hope you get good results and your follow up appointment soon.
