it would depend what exactly is abnormal about your blood test.

I believe this is one for your doc.

I had to stop taking Ramapril because it had an adverse effect on my kidneys. Apparently this is not so unusual. Talk to your doctor about changing your medication.

That is why you have a follow up test soon after going on that medication. A good proportion of users will have problems and will need to try something else. Presumably your GP has suggested an alternative?

Hi, I took ramipril for 2-3 years 5mg to lower blood pressure & bisoprolol for help with atrial fribulation, my blood test often came back abnormal but to be expected, I asked my specialist and he said he would keep an eye on it as it needed to be beyond a certain level of abnormality before a change was required, my ramipril was changed to amolodipine earlier this year but this was due to complications with a ramipril cough that had developed and was causing issues with my adult asthma, so check regularly with your spacialist / Gp they will let you know if problems require a change, very best wishes.

Yes seems to be fairly common. My sodium level decreased in a couple of months of starting ramipril and my GP took me off it and doubled up my amlodopine instead. That’s suited me fine for the last 6 months.

I had a problem with Ramipril that was masked by another problem for several months. I spent 23 hours in the driver's seat of my car avoiding a hurricane. As I have back damage I was in horrific pain for months after that until I could get tested out and requalify for a radiofrequency rhizotomy. I thought at that time that my shortness of breath and fatigue was due to be able to do nothing for months because of pain. It wasn't. The problem got worse and I couldn't walk more than 20 feet without being doubled over trying to catch my breath. I finally found some of the more obscure side effects of the drug and quit it while keeping up with the Lopressor. I improved almost immediately but only for a short time then I got worse again until it reached the point i was having so much trouble breathing I went to the emergency room. They did numerous tests and admitted me as they found my aortic valve was barely working at all and needed to be replaced. I went through more tests and was found to be able to have a TAVR done instead of open heart. I am really wondering if that drug actually caused or just exacerbated my heart valve problem
