I had to 111 again could not get my breath coughing and spluttering, both feet and legs legs like balloon, pulse 120 so now in the Acute Medical Ward. Now attached to oxygen bottle and monitors diagnosed heart failure manufacturing pee bottles. Good news is cough subsiding but could be in until Monday, yet again medication being assessed I assesseddid tell the HF nurse something was wrong last week and weeks have been asking for medicine review

beta blockers do not suit me and affect my BP as low as 78/76

Has anyone had similar ,?

Hi Doublef,

I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital however, it does sound like the best place for you at the moment and I really hope they can sort out the medication and what has been going on health wise to make you feel like this.

I don’t get on with beta blockers either but that is for a completely different reason to yours as I feel they make my angina from coronary spasms worse.

I’m sorry I don’t have much more advice to give however, I do want to wish you all the best in your recovery and I hope you will be home soon.

Hi Doublef

This sounds really frightening but also frustrating for you. I really hope that they can find you a more suitable alternative and help you get more comfortable 🤞🏼

Personally, I didn’t get on with my beta blocker (metoprolol) because it would push my BP down (usually in the 80s but did have a couple of high 70s readings) and I was feeling very faint all the time and kept falling asleep.

I now take ivabradine (was meant to be dapagliflozin too but I couldn’t tolerate that) and my BP isn’t hit as significantly 🙂

Keep us updated with how your getting on.

Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Friday evening has turned out most unexpected yes my medication is being sorted however my heart failure has got considerably worse my heart is only pumping 39%. Which is rather worrying so looks like a longer stay in hospital.
