Quadruple heart bypass
Hi, I developed chronic fatigue and mild angina 5 years after my CABGx4. Turned out that the three saphenous vein grafts (SVGs) from my lower leg has occluded. This isn’t uncommon. SVGs have a lower patency % than arterial grafts. The result for me was 6 stents this summer. So you need to see a cardiologist, get all the scans and check the patency of your grafts.
I also had a quad , 18 months ago.
I vaguely thought I could start running marathons and doing all sorts of activities ((tour de france and Everest anyone) I had never done before.
I certainly don't get angina any more and generally feel ok but frequently feel breathless. I think our level of fitness starts to drop off exponentially after 60 or so.
I look back at all the things I could do when much younger and just marvel at them all!
Almost certainly then, age might be a factor. Medication is also likely to be a factor-look on the medication leaflet to see if breathlessness is mentioned.. Not getting enough sleep a factor. Not being as fit as you could possibly be is likely another factor-I don't know what sort of exercise regime, if any you follow.
You might have put on weight. If you are carrying a load of weight equivalent to taking a packed suitcase on holiday then that will impact hugely.
Also, don't discount the weather. I live by the coast and we have high humidity made worse by the very wet weather. High humidity has a profound effect on our ability to breathe so I am trying to control that in the house where 65 to 70% is common during the winter -Its not at all a wet house-we have no mould as we ventilate- but when its so humid outside then it affects the inside. Might be worth getting a hygrometer and check out your readings.
So you are certainly not alone..
