BP Stable!

Not written a post in a while but just popped by to say my BP seems to be quite stable on the combination of 5mg Amlodipine and 5mg of Ramipril and fingers crossed it stays that way! Still working to lose weight and get healthier. My only concern is, since starting the Ramipril, I’ve had bouts of pulsatile tinnitus in one ear. More prominent at night. Don’t want to Google too much as I’ll end up panicking about what it might be but despite having it for a while now, I’m currently considering visiting the GP to investigate. Has anyone else found Ramipril caused pulsatile tinnitus?

Ahh wow that's amazing your BP is stable hope it's stays that way! Sorry about unfortunate side effects I know what that's like I used to have that all the time! Now I only get it occasionally if I stand up too quick 😉. x

head over to the tinnitus part of Health Unlocked. But even better, go to the website of Tinnitus UK . Lots of stuff there about Mr T and, specifically, his companion Pulsatile. Other than that, dont look online as you will get drawn down unknown pathways especially articles telling you of “cures”. To be blunt, there aren’t any - but there are ways to cope.

I have tinnitus and have recently read that Atorovastatin along with Asprin are known to cause tinnitus in some patients. Mine started about two weeks after going on these meds. Unfortunately it also appears there is no cure. If it helps, I am on Amlodipine but had tinnitus prior to that so I can rule them out, Ramipril I was also on but got the dreaded cough so had to come off but neither had an affect on the tinnitus. I would suggest if it’s pulsatile having a chat with GP mine is a constant whistle, not fun is it.
