Hi Shazna

I recently had one done 18th Oct, still waiting for results but what i would say is, if they let you go then there isnt anything "life-threatening" thats how ive looked at it, i had to chase up the results as like yourself i was getting worried, i got through to the cardios PA and she said this week he would be doing "admin" so i should get a letter and the GP will be informed also, its the waiting thats the worse isnt it, your mind thinks all sorts.

Totally agree. I had mine at 3pm on a Thursday, they then let me go home and at 6pm they called me to go straight to hospital, do not pass go, do not collect 200 pounds!

So if you haven't been contacted yet I would say look on the bright side

I remember feeling exactly the same when I was waiting for my results a couple of years ago . I had my scan at the beginning of December and when it got to mid to late December I'd convinced myself that it was bad news and they didn't want to tell me before Christmas and ruin it for me 🙄I got myself into such a state and rang my GP. She could see the results and reassured me that it was just delays and that my Cardiologist was really busy.

Try not to panic, but I know it's easier said than done

Wha there anything on your discharge report / letter they usually give you after the procedure. Each time I’ve had an angiogram I’ve had a discharge report before I leave - first one said what was found and meds to be prescribed as well as referral back to GP (in my case) - although I had to do a lot to understand what was stated as I’d got little explanation while I was there. On second one had full detailed report with findings and treatment plan.

Not all hospitals / cardiology departments are the same I guess.

But if serious or of concern you’d know already.

how long ago was the angiogram? How long have you been waiting? You could try contacting the GP or the cardiologist secretary for an update on when will get results.

👍

When I had my CT Angiogram they got a doctor to come and look at my results whilst I was still lying there. I think it was touch and go whether they wanted me to be admitted whilst waiting for a catheter angiogram as my agatson calcium results were very high. Please don't worry. If things were that bad they would have kept you in or whisked you off for an Angiogram. If the sonographers just told you to get up and they'd be in touch in due course I don't think you have a reason to be overly concerned. They have a duty to care and would not send you away if things were in any way critical. Try to relax.

All the best.

I had one and had blocked artery but I had docs coming from everywhere whilst I was still in scanner a very large tumour was sitting between lungs and on top of heart, that took priority then heart problem later. Don’t worry because whatever you have or havnt got it is not going to change worrying about it. If there was anything that was immediate danger to you then you would be informed straight away x. Good luck.

It's easier said than done ,but you may be worried over nothing . My calcium count came back as zero I'm 75 yrs & have a Pacemaker. Dr's were amazed as they were expecting some build up. I hope your own results are favorable. Best wishes.
