Anxiety or heart problem

Hi people , not sure if anyone’s suffered the symptoms I’m going through since February or not but worth a go

Long story short, every time I stand up from seated or work bending down or over and stand up I get a rush of blood from what feels like chest or neck area, whooshing in my ears like a pulse(guessing it’s blood) and my heart feels like it’s pumping hard but not fast!!! And out of breath!! Face feels like the feeling you get when blowing up balloons? Tense jaw both sides sometimes both ears ache too,

Small movements like rolling over in bed it does it, walking upstairs in my house it does it once I reach top, feels like I’ve ran a marathon. Like a delayed exhaustion.

Anyway I had ecg, echo, tilt table test, the ecg said I had sinus arrhythmia when I stood up but that was it, I know this ain’t too serious but it stops me in my tracks and I’m gasping.

cardiologists just keep saying anxiety, which is possible but at the time of symptoms I’m not anxious necessarily about it, so it’s hard to tell if it’s anxiety.

Any help or any info would be good

I just want to know if an MRI would tell me more

Definitely not anxiety.

If it is related to physical activity and exercise.

Hello!

Sorry you’re feeling horrid :-(

An MRI would definitely rule anything out and it would give you ultimate peace of mind.

I have a heart condition which didn’t show up on an ecg, echo etc but on an MRI it was apparent. I’m not saying you do or anything I’m not a dr but if you have doubts it’s always worth triple checking.

It’s your body and you know it best, if anything peace of mind is worth it’s weight in gold. Best of luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.

:-)

YeA every doctor says to me,” cardiology have said it’s not heart related” I just want an open referral so I can go and pay for one

I actually went private and it’s the best thing I ever did, I was literally just given a bag of pills but I felt awful and no one was listening at all. A private MRI isn’t cheap but for peace of mind it’s worth it. I’m now receiving the right treatment and medication :-)

What’s your heart condition if you don’t mind me asking? And can you still exercise etc

I have pericarditis, I had a heart attack last August I’m 34 years old. It was caused by a virus but I wasn’t diagnosed properly for months. I’m on the right track now though. Exercise I can but it’s very gradual for me as mine is reoccurring but it’s getting sorted now and I will be fine again.

Mine does seem to respond to my breathing pattern , how did they diagnose your sinus bradycardia?

Oh so they picked it up on ecg? I recently came off the 24 hour monitor (Wednesday) got results last night all they saw was a few ectopic beats which I get occasionally but everything else was clear, I’ll push for mri me thinks

I was light headed and went to hospital and was on monitors all day and had two ECGs. Nothing found. Heart Dr put me on three day holter monitor. Picked up slow rate with pauses. My one day testing missed it.. maybe a monitor worn for at least a few days would pick something up. Hope you find the answer soon. These episodes are uncomfortable and scary. Be well and be safe

Yea, I had similar symptoms when I was in my teens and twenties; and as I like you was never a nervous person. No one ever said to me it was anxiety as I didn't look the type but yes the flushes, heart racing away, low panic attacks were all there. When I reached my thirties all these symptoms slowly disappeared. I did learn something later that my mother as a young woman suffered the same throughout her life. So in reality I had inherited her infliction without me ever knowing. It may give you some thought although it doesn't have to be your mother. Good Luck.
